A trivia game where the boring answer is the wrong answer. Every dive is seven clue questions with 30 seconds on the clock, and the points are weighted so that the more obscure your answer, the deeper you go.

How a dive works

Each round opens with one clue and a 30 second timer. If you are stuck, do not panic: a second clue lands at the 10 second mark and a third at 20 seconds, each one narrowing the answer. Type your guess and hit enter. Correct answers chain into the next question, and the dive keeps going until you miss or run out of time.

Why rare answers score more

Most trivia games reward the answer the crowd gives. This one does the opposite. Every question is rated from common to legendary, and that rating multiplies both your depth and your score. Picking the legendary answer over the obvious one is the difference between a shallow dive and a deep one, which is why bragging rights here are measured in depth rather than question count.

Tips for going deeper

Use the full clue ladder before answering if you are unsure, because a wrong guess costs the entire run while a slow answer only costs part of the time bonus. When two answers both fit the first clue, hold for the second clue instead of gambling. Treat the timer as a tiebreaker rather than the main scoring route: the rarity multiplier is worth far more than speed, so never trade a rare answer for a fast common one.

How many questions are in one dive?

Seven. Each question gives you 30 seconds, and a new clue for the same answer appears every 10 seconds, so guessing early is a trade-off between fewer clues and a bigger time bonus.

What ends a dive?

One wrong answer, or letting the 30 second timer run out. The dive ends immediately and your depth and score for that run are locked in, which is what makes a long run feel earned.

How is the score calculated?

Every correct answer adds depth of 10 plus 6 per rarity tier, and score of 100 plus 25 per rarity tier plus a time bonus of up to 100 points for answering fast. Rarity runs from common to legendary, so a rare answer is worth far more than an obvious one.

Do I need an account to keep my high score?

No. Best depth, best score, and dives played are saved locally in your browser. Clearing your browser data will reset them.
